The Australian High Commission, New Delhi, is seeking applications for the temporary position of Direct Aid Program Administrator at the Australian High Commission, New Delhi.  This position will report to Second Secretary, DFAT Political.

This temporary position of a Direct Aid Program Administrator is for an initial period of six months with the possibility of extension.

The commencing salary will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. The salary for this position will be negotiated based on the existing LES Conditions of Service (COS) taking into account qualifications and experience. This position is part-time, five days a week (approximately 25 hours per week).

About the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)

The role of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is to advance the interests of Australia and Australians internationally. This involves strengthening Australia’s security, enhancing Australia’s prosperity, delivering an effective and high quality overseas aid program and helping Australian travellers and Australians overseas.

The department provides foreign, trade and development policy advice to the Australian Government. DFAT also works with other Australian government agencies to drive coordination of Australia’s pursuit of global, regional and bilateral interests.

The Australian High Commission, New Delhi undertakes this role for the Department here in India.

This position of a Direct Aid Program Administrator is for an initial period of six months.

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  1. Assisting with the management of the Australian High Commission Direct Aid Program. The role requires the DAP Administrator to:
    1. Build relationships with current and potential Non-Government Organizations (NGO) partners;
    2. Work with NGOs to ensure DAP proposals match DAP guidelines and post priorities;
    3. Administer the DAP program (including selection, approval and funding processes, acquittal of spent funds and reporting);
    4. Assist with accountability including visits to project sites and regular contact with NGO partners;
    5. Management of DAP recipients which are not meeting DAP guidelines;
    6. Facilitate visits by AHC staff and high-level visitors to DAP project sites;
    7. Think creatively and implement publicity of the DAP program, including event management;
    8. Represent the High Commission at DAP events with NGO partners;
    9. Assist in DAP strategy, risk management and other reporting;
    10. Manage the DAP email account.
