TOP AUSTRALIAN DESIGNERS TAKE THE PLUNGE INTO INDIA
Leading Australian designer Easton Pearson is making its first foray into the Indian commercial fashion market.
The Australian High Commission in New Delhi held a launch with Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson, the designers behind the iconic Australian label, to celebrate their entry into India, and showcase some of their stunning collections.
Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Patrick Suckling, has welcomed their decision to reach out to Indian women.
“Easton Pearson is a premiere Australian designer label with a loyal international customer base,” Mr Suckling said.
“The label’s sophisticated designs marry both Indian and Western aesthetic elements, and I’m confident it will enjoy great success in the Indian market.”
Both Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson have worked closely with Indian artisans and craftspeople over the last 20 years, mainly from the Kutch region of Gujarat.
Their designs will be available in stand-alone stores and exclusive selected boutiques in India, in collaboration with Sudha garments and R&B International, India.
“We feel the time is perfect for us to introduce Easton Pearson to the Indian market,” Lydia Pearson said.
“We have had a long love affair with India and are proud and privileged to present our designs to Indian women. Our characteristic style of layering and mixing and matching color and pattern will, we think, appeal to the Indian woman who is looking for a new way to dress.”
Pamela Easton added: “Easton Pearson has something unique to offer the Indian market. We are ready to present our vision of contemporary designer dressing to a savvy new audience.”
