Australian High Commission website in Hindi to reach out to the wider Indian public
The Australian High Commission, New Delhi has launched a Hindi version of its website www.india.highcommission.gov.au featuring wide ranging information including visas and migration, development cooperation and media.
Mr John McCarthy, Australian High Commissioner to India, said, “The Australian Government recognises the importance the people of India attach to their national language, Hindi. We have taken this step to provide information to the Indian audience about Australia in the language of a large majority of people.”
“The Hindi section of the website provides information on visas and immigration, Australian development cooperation in India, Australian business, the broader Australia-India relationship and media information such as major speeches and press releases by the High Commission and Australian Ministers,” he said. “We also hope to translate the website into other Indian languages in the near future and hope this initiative will help Indian users gain easier accessibility to relevant information”, added Mr McCarthy.
The High Commission website is used by Indian users seeking information on Australia, or by those seeking to travel to Australia for holiday, business or education. With inputs from Australian Government agencies represented at the New Delhi High Commission, including the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Department of Education, Employment and Workplace relations, Agriculture and the Australia-India Council, the website is a valuable tool, promoting Australia’s public diplomacy and other initiatives in India.

अधिक से अधिक जनता तक पहुंचने के लिए ऑस्ट्रेलियाई उच्चायोग की वेबसाइट हिंदी में
नई दिल्ली स्थित ऑस्ट्रेलियाई उच्चायोग ने अपनी वेबसाइट www.india.highcommission.gov.au हिंदी में भी शुरू की है जिसमें वीज़ा और माइग्रेशन, विकसन सहयोग और मीडिया सहित बहुत सी सूचनाएँ उपलब्ध हैं।
भारत में ऑस्ट्रेलिया के उच्चायुक्त श्री जॉन मैकार्थी ने कहा, ''भारतीय जनता अपनी राष्ट्र भाषा हिन्दी को जो महत्व देती है, उसे हम समझते हैं । हमने भारतीय लोगों को उनकी भाषा में ऑस्ट्रेलिया के बारे में सूचना उपलब्ध कराने के लिए यह कदम उठाया है।''
श्री मैकार्थी ने कहा, ''वेबसाइट के हिंदी विभाग में वीज़ा और इमीग्रेशन, ऑस्ट्रेलियाई विकसन सहयोग, ऑस्ट्रेलियाई बिजनेस और व्यापक ऑस्ट्रेलिया-भारत संबंधों के बारे में जानकारी दी गई है। इसमें उच्चायोग और ऑस्ट्रेलियाई मंत्रियों की ओर से जारी प्रमुख भाषण और प्रेस विज्ञप्तियों जैसी मीडिया सूचना भी उपलब्ध है। हम निकट भविष्य में अन्य भारतीय भाषाओं में भी वेबसाइट का अनुवाद करने की उम्मीद करते हैं । आशा है कि यह पहल प्रासांगिक जानकारी हासिल करने में भारतीय उपयोक्ताओं के लिए सहायक होगी।''
भारतीय उपयोक्ता ऑस्ट्रेलिया के बारे में सूचना प्राप्त करने के लिए इसका इस्तेमाल करते हैं । छुट्टियों में, बिजनेस के लिए या शिक्षा के लिए ऑस्ट्रेलिया जाने वाले भारतीय उपयोक्ता भी इस वेबसाईट का उपयोग करते हैं। इसमें इमीग्रेशन और नागरिकता विभाग, विदेश मामले एवं व्यापार विभाग, शिक्षा, रोज़गार, कार्यस्थल संबंध और कृषि विभाग तथा ऑस्ट्रेलिया-भारत काउन्सिल सहित नई दिल्ली उच्चायोग में प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाली ऑस्ट्रेलियाई सरकार की एजेंसियों से प्राप्त जानकारी और सुझाव उपलब्ध कराए गए हैं। इसलिए यह वेबसाइट भारत में ऑस्ट्रेलिया के सार्वजनिक राजनय (डिप्लोमेसी) तथा अन्य पहलों को बढ़ावा देने का माध्यम है।
