Australian Visa Application Centre opens in Chandigarh
The Australian High Commissioner to India, Mr John McCarthy, today formally opened a Visa Application and Collection Centre in Chandigarh. The centre, managed by the Indian company, TT Services, began operations from 19 September.
Mr McCarthy said, "The centre has been set up to help make it easier and more convenient for those in Punjab to apply for visas to Australia, which are received and sent to the Australian High Commission in New Delhi for processing.”
"We hope that the new arrangements will assist people in Punjab seeking to travel to Australia. I am sure that they will welcome these new arrangements. The Chandigarh visa centre is part of an ongoing effort to enhance services and make it easier for Indian citizens to apply for visas for Australia. I hope that it will help boost even further the number of Indian tourists, students and business people choosing to visit Australia," said Mr McCarthy.
TT Services in Chandigarh is now accepting Australian visa applications. TT Services is located at SCO-84-85, 1 st Floor, Sector 8C, Madhya Marg, Chandigarh.
Commenting on the improved service, the High Commission’s First Secretary (Immigration), Ms Kelly H. Raj, said, "The Australian Visa Application and Collection Centre will provide clients in Punjab with a face-to-face contact point, a visa application service, and information on how to apply for Australian visas. The Centre will also provide a secure courier service allowing applicants to track their applications on-line.”
