Australia brings education opportunities to Indian cities- Australian Education Fair travels to Cochin

The Australian High Commission will hold an education fair in Cochin on Saturday, 18 February 2006. The Australian Education Fair, launched in Jalandhar on 12 February 2006, was held in Baroda recently and will also travel to Vishakhapatnam.

“This Australian Education Fair is an excellent initiative by AAERI (Association of Australian Education Representatives in India) to showcase the strengths of Australia’s education, science and training systems for international students,” said Professor John Webb, Counsellor (Education), Australian High Commission, New Delhi.

“The fair is targeted strategically in selected cities to increase awareness on international education. I am confident that we will see even more Indian students going to Australia for studies in the coming years,” he added.

The Australian Education Fair, a free-of-cost initiative, provides an opportunity to meet experts on Australian Education who have played a key role in counselling students to study in Australia. The fair will invite both students and parents to attend seminars and presentations and also provide brochures, catalogues and admission forms for several Australian universities.

Australia has emerged as a leading provider of top quality education to international students from all over the world. In the year 2005, over 26,000 Indian students were enrolled in Australian universities, with 90% of them undertaking higher education in the fields of Information Technology, Engineering, Management, Accounting, Applied Science and Hospitality. New fields of study such as Biotechnology, Communication Studies and Art & Design Dressing, are also fast emerging as preferred courses.

Australian education offers a safe and multicultural environment for international students. Australian education offers qualitative and cost-effective learning to students, along with greater flexibility to choose from a variety of programs and courses of interest.

The Australian Education fair provides a unique opportunity to know about Australian education as a preferred destination for an increasing number of students.

The fair will be held at Hotel Abad Plaza, M G Road, Cochin on 18 February 2006 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
