Karnivool to enthral India with three back-to-back performances

Australian hard-rock architects, Karnivool, are packing their bags for a three-city tour of India taking in Delhi NCR, Chennai and Kolkata in January 2015.

Prog rock giants Karnivool will begin their onslaught by featuring at the First Edition of Lockdown Festival at Kingdom of Dreams on 9 January, followed by a performance at Saarang 2015 at IIT Madras on 10 January and wrapping up their whirlwind tour at THE Festival in Kolkata on 11 January.

With their acclaimed 2005 debut Themata and 2009’s ground breaking follow-up Sound Awake, Karnivool established themselves as one of the most vital forces in progressive modern music. Now a major international draw, appearing at festivals such as The Big Day Out (Aus), Sonisphere (IK, Fr), Download (UK), SXSW (US) and Rock AM Ring/Rock Im Park (Germany), and gaining high praise from international press titans such as Rolling Stone, Billboard Magazine, Kerrang! and Rocksound.

Karnivool belied expectation again with album number three, the brazen and introspective, Asymmetry. This expansive work was designed in the band’s Perth studio over two years, before in late 2012, the Karnivool caravan headed across the continent to bunker down with legendary producer, Nick DiDia (Rage Against The Machine, Mastodon) at Byron Bay’s Studios 301.Their third album was released on 19 July 2013 and went straight to number one in the Australian charts, winning an ARIA three months later and achieving gold status. The band have toured globally since the release and are very excited to be returning to India with their incredible, multiple award winning live show for a third time.

Karnivool are Ian Kenny on vocals, Drew Goddard and Mark Hosking on guitar, Jon Stockman on bass, and Steve Judd on drums.

The band last toured India as part of Oz Fest - the biggest Australian cultural festival ever staged in India in 2012-13. The tour was supported by the Australian Government and was presented by the Australia's contemporary music export initiatives SOUNDS AUSTRALIA and STAGE MOTHERS.
