Australia's support package for India

On 27 April, 2021 Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced an initial support package for India, standing with India - a friend & strategic partner – to respond to the impacts of COVID-19. Australia will provide India with an initial 500 ventilators, 1 million surgical masks, 500,000 P2/ N95 masks, 100,000 surgical gowns, 100,000 goggles, 100,000 pairs of gloves, and 20,000 face shields, said the Prime Minister in his Press Conference. So far, Australia has delivered over 30 tonnes of essential medical supplies, including 3,000 ventilators and 250 oxygen concentrators to India.

Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey

The Australian Government will proceed with the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey of all Australians on the Commonwealth Electoral Roll. Instructions on survey participation will be published on the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). The Australian High Commission cautions you against ongoing organised visa scams targeting Indians. Victims are provided with a fake visa grant notice, which links to a non-genuine visa checking service on a fake website. All potential visa applicants should refer directly to information published on the official Department of Home Affairs website.

High Commissioner Barry O’Farrell visited Andhra Pradesh and Telangana – the two southern states of growing commercial and strategic importance under the Australia India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. High Commissioner Barry O’Farrell's visit to Uttar Pradesh

Australia’s relationship with every state in India has a part to play in our overall Australia-India partnership. On his first official visit to Uttar Pradesh, High Commissioner Barry O’Farrell  met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, other state ministers and government officials to progress economic engagement, particularly in roads and infrastructure, water and skills development sectors. He also attended the Ganga Aarti at Varanasi’s Tulsi Ghaat, and witnessed the famous silk-weaving technology in a Varanasi village.
